New businesses are always opening their doors across Arkansas. Here is a roundup of the latest additions.
Veralux Health
The state’s first dedicated MRI center opened in Rogers Jan. 22.
Veralux, located at 2000 S. 42nd St., is the only imaging facility in Arkansas exclusively offering whole-body MRI screenings optimized for preventive care.
The company was founded by Dr. Vanessa Hardin Branch and Dr. Drake Branch.
âI have personally seen the impact that imaging has made on the health outcomes of my loved ones and how, without imaging assessment, a poor or even life threatening consequence was probable,” Hardin Branch said in a press release. “In this age of modern medicine, non-invasive, radiation-free proactive imaging should be accessible, and the time is now to provide this option locally.”
Veraluxâs AI-integrated MRI provides a radiation-free, non-invasive experience that can detect cancer, aneurysms and many other conditions before symptoms appear.
Film Alley
The long-awaited replacement for the Regal UA Breckenridge held its ribbon-cutting ceremony last month. Film Alley Breckenridge, a project of Schulman Theatres Inc. of Weatherford, Texas, features an arcade, duck pin bowling, theaters and a full bar.
The 44,417-SF building was built in 1998 and is owned by KBK-Breck LLC, a group led by the Keet family and Hank Kelley.
Blackwell Revival
Blackwell Revival, a new bar, restaurant and live music venue, opened Jan. 29 in Atkins.
The new venue is owned and operated by Whit Janske and Zach Hammons. It occupies a 7,200-SF building with a covered 4,000-SF outdoor patio at 3801 Happy Bend Rd. The 4-acre lot was formerly occupied by The Well Bar & Grill and went up for auction in August.
Janske and Hammons purchased the property for $375,000 under the business name H&J Holdings LLC, according to the Conway County Assessor’s Office.
Michelin-Recommended

Written by the Seasons, a farm-to-table concept based in Dallas, is opening a new location in Bentonville, according to The Bentonville Bulletin. The new restaurant, located at 215 NW A St., is the restaurant’s third location and the first outside of Texas.
The restaurant will be located inside the 174,000-SF mixed-use Midtown Lane development.
Both of the current Written by the Seasons locations have been recognized by the Michelin Guide for the past two years.
“Each Written by the Seasons space contains architecture that inspires and stokes the flame of simplistic, meaningful beauty all while encapsulating and representing the neighborhood they reside in,” a job posting from the restaurant stated. “Captivating character and upscale details without the formality. Menus inspired by flavors and seasons, presenting plant inspired dishes and locally raised provisions. Creating eclectic dishes, and genuine experiences from the purest of ingredients.”
Raising Canes
A new Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers location is in talks to take over the former Logan’s Roadhouse in Bryant, according to a post from MySaline.
Benchmark Design Group of Tyler, Texas, is spearheading the project. The Bryant Development & Review Committee approved the proposal on Monday. The plans now move to the Bryant Planning Commission for approval at its Feb. 9 meeting.
The building, located at 23115 I-30 South, is 6,622 SF. The location would be the eighth Raising Cane’s in Arkansas.
Comments on a post from MySaline allege that Logan’s Roadhouse employees were not aware of the restaurant closing until the Raising Cane’s plans were announced.
Hand & Wrist Center

St. Bernards Healthcare has opened a new hand and wrist center in Jonesboro, led by hand and microsurgery specialist Dr. Safder Hasan.
The new center is the first of its kind in northeast Arkansas, seeing patients on the second floor of the Medical Arts Professional Building at 800 South Church St. and performing surgical procedures inside St. Bernards Medical Center.
Hasan comes to St. Bernards after completing a hand and microsurgery fellowship at the University of Louisvilleâs Kleinert Kutz Hand Center, the largest and longest-serving hand surgery practice in the country.
Insomnia Cookies
Arkansas Business broke the news in September that an Insomnia Cookies was coming to downtown Little Rock. The new location opened its doors last month.
A press release from the chain, famous for its late operating hours and delivery services, said that the new location aims to specifically serve students at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and downtown pedestrians.
