Wendy Riggs Assumes Role as Vice President of Operations for Walton Arts Center

As VP of operations for the Walton Arts Center, a new position, Wendy Riggs will manage and maintain practices and policies for all facilities, according to Peter B. Lane, president and CEO of the Walton Arts Center. “We are excited Wendy is joining our team and moving to our community,” Lane said. Her oversight includes the multimillion-dollar renovation of the Fayetteville Walton Arts Center and the newly opened Wal-Mart Arkansas Music Pavilion. “Wendy’s experience in capital project management, staff management and development, and budgeting and financial management gives her the skills necessary to lead our operations team to implement strategies and procedures that will support our growth,” Lane said. “We look forward to having her on board.”

Riggs has more than 30 years of experience in arts and venue management, marketing, consulting and teaching. Most recently, she was the director of the city of Tuscaloosa’s Department of Arts & Entertainment. In this job she oversaw programming, fundraising and daily operations for the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater, Tuscaloosa River Market and the Mildred Westervelt Warner Transportation Museum. Riggs also has worked for the True Colors Theater Company, Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, Fox Theatre and Walt Disney World.

Riggs has a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University and a master’s degree from the University of Alabama.
