Robotics Competition Bringing Kids from 11 States and Canada to LR

1 min read

Students from across Arkansas and representing 11 states and even Canada will converge on Barton Coliseum in Little Rock March 6-7 for the 2015 Arkansas Rock City Regional FIRST Robotics Competition.

More than 60 high-school robotics teams will compete in what is billed as the state’s premier STEM event. FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a nonprofit dedicated to inspiring an appreciation of science and technology in students.

Its robotics competitions challenge high-school students, working with professional mentors, to design and build robots that contend in competitions measuring the effectiveness of each robot, the power of collaboration and the determination of students.

The event is sponsored by the Arkansas Regional Planning Committee in partnership with FIRST founding sponsor Baxter International Inc., Arkansas FIRST Incorporated and the Arkansas State Fairgrounds.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact FIRST Regional Director Meredith Novak at mnovak@usfirst.org.
