The Arkansas Fellowship program will launch its Speaker Series Tuesday night at Acxiom Corp.'s River Market headquarters with Arkansas serial entrepreneur and investor Steve Clark.
The Arkansas Fellowship is a nonprofit program that places graduating seniors from Arkansas colleges and universities in two-year, paid internships at "innovative" Arkansas companies with a focus on keeping the state's top talent at home and developing the next generation of entrepreneurs and business leaders.
Clark is founder of Propak, the supply chain management firm based in Fort Smith currently employing more than 1,500 from California to New York; Rockfish, the award-winning digital marketing agency based in Rogers and recognized in 2014 as one of the fastest growing agencies in the U.S.; and Noble Impact, the Little Rock nonprofit student education platform that fuses entrepreneurship and public service.
Earlier this year, Clark was recognized as Entrepreneur of the Year by the University of Arkansas Walton College of Business.
"We are thrilled to start the Speaker Series," said Jamie Fugitt, chairman of the Arkansas Fellowship, in a news release. "Too many of Arkansas' most promising entrepreneurs leave the state assuming better opportunities will be found elsewhere, but that assumption is often wrong. These Fellows are developing meaningful relationships with successful and experienced entrepreneurs like Steve Clark early in the Fellows' careers. That is an incredible opportunity and one that isn't easily duplicated in other places."
