Mark McLarty's McLarty Automotive Group announced Tuesday that it has purchased four central Arkansas auto dealerships from publicly traded Asbury Automotive Group of Atlanta.

The company purchased North Point Nissan, North Little Rock Nissan, North Point Mazda and North Point Volkswagen. The dealerships will be renamed McLarty Nissan of Little Rock, McLarty Nissan of North Little Rock, McLarty Mazda and McLarty Volkswagen.

"We are excited by this opportunity to continue growing in our home market," Mark McLarty, founder and chairman of McLarty Automotive Group, said in a news release.

Financial terms of the deal, finalized this week, were not disclosed.

McLarty said David Surguine will be market area executive manager of McLarty Nissan of Little Rock, at 1 Colonel Glenn Plaza Drive, and McLarty Nissan of North Little Rock, at 5703 Landers Road. Wes Thomas will be general manager of McLarty Mazda and McLarty Volkswagen, at 6030 Landers Road in North Little Rock.

The dealerships are the latest to be acquired by the firm, which has been adding to its local portfolio since last year, after Mark McLarty returned to the U.S. after building auto dealerships in China, Brazil and Mexico.

In 2014, the company acquired Bale Honda of Little Rock, now known as McLarty Honda. Early this year, it acquired Frank Fletcher Honda of Columbia, Missouri, and renamed it Columbia Honda. In October, it acquired the Joe Machens Dealerships of Columbia, Missouri, the largest in the state.

McLarty Automotive Group owns and operates 13 dealerships with about 1,000 employees. It represents Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Jeep, Lincoln, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Ram, Scion, Toyota and Volkswagen.
