We can confirm that James Van Doren, high school running buddy of northwest Arkansas developer Brandon Barber, has finished his 15-month prison sentence.
Although he tried in vain to take it back, Van Doren pleaded guilty to money laundering for his handling of some money that Barber gave him shortly before he filed for bankruptcy. Barber’s bankruptcy was thrown out because the judge determined that he had hidden assets from creditors.
Anyway, that chapter of Van Doren’s life is over.
Barber, an inmate at the federal pen at Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, is scheduled for release in February of next year.
