Glenn Anderson, an assistant professor of the American Sign Language & English Interpreter Education program at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, has been appointed to the Commission on Collegiate Interpreter Education, the national accrediting board for interpreter education programs. In his new role, Anderson will review applicants’ self-study program reports and rate how well the applying program meets the commission’s accreditation standards.
Nichola Driver has been promoted to campus director of the Nonprofit Leadership Studies program at UALR, a program designed to prepare and certify students to work for nonprofit organizations after completing a bachelor’s degree. She is seeking to revamp the program’s community advisory board, which consists of nonprofit professionals who are interested in the program and seeking to partner with it to benefit their organizations as well as the students.
Kristi Smith has been named senior director of development at UALR, and Christina Smith has been named director of development and external relations for the UALR College of Social Sciences & Communication. Kristi Smith will create and execute donor prospect strategy and will work with priority philanthropic initiatives such as the Chancellor’s Circle, the Center for Arkansas History & Culture and the Foundation Fund board of directors. Christina Smith will serve as a member of the university fundraising team.
Maegan Dyson, J.D. Gray and Aimee Poynter have been named development directors in the Division of Advancement at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.
Dyson, a 2006 graduate of UCA, is now the general director of development after spending six years as a development associate for athletics.
Gray, a 2015 UCA graduate who has been director of development at Central Baptist College in Conway, is now director of development for the College of Business.
Poynter, who also graduated from UCA in 2015, is the new director of development for the College of Natural Sciences & Mathematics.
