Brett Myers Files Motion To Withdraw as John Rogers' Attorney
Brett Myers of Fox Rothschild LLP in Dallas.

Did you know one of the lawyers representing alleged serial fraudster John Rogers is trying to ditch his client?

Brett Myers of Dallas represented Rogers in a string of civil lawsuits in Pulaski County Circuit Court. He has now filed motions to withdraw as Rogers’ attorney, citing “a breakdown in the professional attorney-client relationship.”

Money appears to be the issue. The motion notes that Rogers has “failed substantially to fulfill an obligation” to Myers and continued representation would “result in an unreasonable financial burden” on Myers.

We’re pretty sure Myers cited the wrong rule of professional conduct to support his position to withdraw: Rule 1.14, which covers a lawyer and a client with diminished capacity.

Rule 1.16 deals with terminating representation.
