Arkansas Highway & Transportation Approves Bids In Northeast Arkansas

The Arkansas State Highway Commission in March approved bids for several road improvement projects throughout northeast Arkansas.

The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) announced the following contracts awarded:

Independence County: Resurface 2.2 miles of city streets in Pleasant Plains and 2.9 miles of various city streets in Southside to include Brushy Road, South Fork Road, Section Lane and Bobbye Lane. Atlas Asphalt of Batesville awarded the contract at $508,012.84.

Jackson County: Resurface 8.8 miles of State Highway 384 from State Highway 367 to State Highway 18 at Newport. Asphalt Producers, LLC of Jonesboro awarded the contract at $1,639,462.72.

Lawrence County: Resurface 6.3 miles of State Highways 63B, 67B and 367 from State Highway 63 to U.S. Highway 67 near Hoxie and Walnut Ridge. Atlas Asphalt, Inc. of Batesville awarded the contract at $1,626,433.36.

Poinsett County: Resurface 8.1 miles of selected sections of State Highway 49 from the Craighead County line southward to State Highway 214. Asphalt Producers, LLC of Jonesboro awarded the contract at $1,051,884.14.
