KLEK-FM, a new radio station licensed to broadcast in Jonesboro, had a ribbon cutting at its location at 1411 Franklin Street on March 30.
The Federal Communications Commission classifies KLEK as a noncommercial educational station, which means it must be owned and operated by a nonprofit organization serving an educational purpose for the community.
The Voice of Arkansas Minority Advocacy Council owns and operates KLEK and is registered as a nonprofit corporation and is in the process of applying for 501c3 nonprofit status with the Internal Revenue Service.
