Clinton School Offers Executive Master’s of Public Service Degree

1 min read

The Clinton School of Public Service will begin offering an executive master’s of public service degree through an online curriculum beginning next year.

Designed for “experienced professionals” who want to be able to earn a graduate degree without having to relocate or leave their jobs, the program will be the first of its kind, the school’s administration said.

“We are the first university in the country and the world to offer an executive master’s of public service degree,” Skip Rutherford, dean of the school, said.

“The people who will benefit the most from this program are people who are committed public servants and want to take their career to the next level,” Susan Hoffpauir, associate dean, said.

The first cohort in the executive master’s program is expected to begin studies in March 2018.

Since its founding in 2004, the school has offered a master’s of public service degree on its campus, which is on the grounds of the Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock.

As a standalone institution within the University of Arkansas System, the school has only directly offered the public service master’s degree, though some concurrent degree programs are available in partnership with other campuses in the UA System.

The application portal for the program went live this week and is accessible here. The priority deadline is July 31 and the regular deadline is Sept. 15.
