Brandon Kemp Accepts Interim Position at A-State (Movers & Shakers)

Brandon Kemp has been named interim associate dean of the College of Agriculture, Engineering & Technology at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro and will lead the engineering programs for the 2017-18 academic year.

Kemp earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering at A-State in 1997, a master’s degree from the University of Missouri at Rolla and a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is an associate professor of electrical engineering and the Verbeth & Henry Ezra Coe Professor of Engineering.


Syd Tatum has been promoted to live production manager at Keith Smith Co. of Hot Springs, an independent producer and provider of broiler hatching eggs to the poultry industry.

Tatum, a Louisiana native, joined Keith Smith Co. earlier this year as pullet field operations manager.
