Bank of the Ozarks Inc. of Little Rock has hired CDI Contractors LLC of Little Rock to build its new, 247,000-SF headquarters in west Little Rock and plans to hold a groundbreaking in December.

Though the publicly traded company this week declined to disclose how much the headquarters will cost to build, "the investment will be in excess of $100 million," Bank of the Ozarks' CEO George Gleason told Arkansas Business during a formal announcement at the state Capitol in September.

Arkansas Business previously reported that the company bought 44 acres on the western end of The Ranch development from Financial Center Corporation and Ranch Properties for $12.7 million. The bulk of the site is at the northwest corner of Cantrell Road and Chenonceau Boulevard, though a portion extends east of Chenonceau to Ranch Boulevard along the south side of Ranch Drive.

Phase 1 of the project will include a five-level headquarters building with an underground parking deck. About 500 employees working in three locations are expected to move into the building when construction is completed in late 2019 or early 2020. It will be able to hold up to 900 employees.

Polk Stanley Wilcox Architects and White-Daters & Associates, both of Little Rock, are the  architect/engineering team on the project.
