Brent Bumpers’ Wicked Mix company is introducing a new product line: Wicked Minis, three flavors of oyster crackers.
The Minis got a tryout last week at the Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco.
The original Wicked Mix product is a snack food combining pecan halves, cashews, almonds and other goodies and comes in three flavors.
And Bumpers is the “Brent” behind Brent & Sam’s Cookies and eldest son of the late Arkansas Sen. Dale Bumpers. Brent Bumpers launched Wicked Mix in late 2013.
The company, located on Cantrell Road in Little Rock, employs 10 full-time workers now and produces between 10,000 and 15,000 pounds of Wicked Mix per week. Wicked Mix can now be found in 45 states and Canada.
Bumpers declined to reveal revenue figures, but said Wicked Mix exceeded $1 million in annual revenue three years earlier than Brent & Sam’s Cookies did. Brent & Sam’s, founded in 1985, was sold to Lance Inc. of Charlotte, North Carolina, in 2008.
Stan Roberts, Wicked Mix president, said Wicked Minis received a good reception at the Fancy Food Show. “It’s like Wicked Mix,” he said. “We just need to make sure we’re getting it in the right people’s mouths.
