Raycom Media of Montgomery, Alabama, on Friday named Hatton Weeks vice president and general manager of KAIT-TV, Channel 8, in Jonesboro.
Weeks had been news director at the ABC/NBC affiliate from 2008 to 2015. For the last three years, he's been news director at Raycom's WLBT-TV, Channel 3, in Jackson, Mississippi.
"I'm thrilled to be rejoining the KAIT team," Weeks said in a news release. "KAIT is one of our nation's best television stations. It's made even better because of the great community it serves. My family's roots run deep in Region 8 and I'm honored to be serving in this new role at a station I grew up watching."
Weeks, who worked at northeast Arkansas radio station when he was 16, began working at KAIT in 1996 while attending Arkansas State University. He eventually became an anchor and reporter. He later worked as a reporter at KTHV-TV, Channel 11, the CBS affiliate in Little Rock that was then owned by Gannett Co. He returned to KAIT in 2006 as assistant news director.
"Hatton has a proven track record of solid leadership in our company and the communities we serve," said Tim Ingram, Raycom's regional group vice president. "I am proud to see him return home to northeast Arkansas and put those skills to work serving our consumers and clients in Region 8."
