Gleason, Thompson to Headline Executive Academy

2 min read

Emerging leaders from business, nonprofit and policy sectors have an opportunity this fall to learn from some of the most successful and recognizable business names in Arkansas as part of the Arkansas Business Executive Leadership Academy.

Bank of the Ozarks CEO George Gleason, J.B. Hunt Transport Chairman of the Board Kirk Thompson, Sage Partners Principal Mark Saviers, Cameron Smith & Associates CEO Cameron Smith and former Tyson Foods CEO Donnie Smith will serve as featured speakers for the academy’s inaugural year.

Arkansas Business is launching the Executive Leadership Academy for the state’s rising stars with assistance from Insight Leadership Group of Northwest Arkansas.

“We have developed the Arkansas Business Executive Leadership Academy with the state’s next-generation leaders in mind,” said Chris Bahn, publisher for business special publications at Arkansas Business Publishing Group. “We have access to some of the best business minds in the world right here in Arkansas, and we are thrilled to have them play a part in this unique learning experience.”

Those poised to be the state’s next CEOs, presidents or executive directors — and Arkansas’ small-business owners and entrepreneurs — are encouraged to apply. The Arkansas Business Executive Leadership Academy launches in August and will offer a dynamic learning experience that includes personal strengths assessment, one-on-one coaching, problem solving and mentorship.

Class size is limited and high-potential candidates and business owners can apply until July 15. Nominees will then be selected to participate in the academy, which consists of five Friday sessions between Aug. 17 and Oct. 26.

Tuition for the program is $3,250. Sessions will be held at Heifer International headquarters in downtown Little Rock.

Insight Leadership Group of Northwest Arkansas has conducted leadership training for Tyson Foods, Metova and St. Joseph Health, among other companies across the United States. Insight Leadership Group is developing a custom curriculum for participants and will provide Total SDI strengths assessments and one-on-one coaching for class members.
