Dr. Bruno Machado has been hired as a specialist in urinary system surgeries and minimally invasive endoscopic techniques at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.
Machado is an assistant professor in the Department of Urology in the College of Medicine and is seeing patients in the Urology Clinic.
He received his medical degree from Fluminense Federal University in Brazil. He completed a residency in general surgery at Hospital Geral de Nova Iguacu in Brazil and a residency in urology at the Hospital Universitario Clementino Fraga Filho in Brazil, and completed a fellowship in laparoscopic robotic surgery at the Clinique Saint Augustin in France.
Drs. Rob Winningham, Kaitlin Cockerell and John Cockerell have been hired at the Sherwood Family Medical Center, a Baptist Health affiliate in Sherwood.
Winningham received his medical degree from the Quillen College of Medicine in Tennessee and completed a residency in pediatrics at Greenville Health Systems in South Carolina.
Kaitlin Cockerell received her medical degree and completed her residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
Her husband, John, will start in August and also received his medical degree and completed his family medicine residency at UAMS.
Dr. Krishna Kakkera has joined the White River Health System Batesville Pulmonology Clinic, where he is now seeing patients.
Kakkera, who is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and pulmonology and board-eligible in critical care, received his medical degree from Osmania Medical College, affiliated with NTR University of Health Sciences in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
