You’ve probably heard about the 70-room hotel being built in the Murphy Arts District in downtown El Dorado.
What you may not know is that its name, The Haywood, is an homage to Charles Haywood Murphy Sr. and Jr., the progenitors of the Murphy business empire that begat Murphy Oil Corp., Murphy USA Inc. and Deltic Timber, merged this year into PotlatchDeltic.
Murphy family members are investors in the $14 million project being developed by Newmark Moses Tucker Partners of Little Rock.
