Watco Supply Chain Services of Springdale has filed for an injunction and compensatory damages against a former employee it said conspired to take proprietary information to a competitor.

Watco, a transportation logistics company, filed the suit Nov. 16 in Washington County Circuit Court through attorney Philip Elmore of Quattlebaum Grooms & Tull of Springdale.

Watco alleges that Shawn Smithson, an account manager in Georgia for almost a year, accessed and downloaded client and preferred carriers lists before leaving to become VP of transportation solutions at Pegasus Transportation Solutions Inc. of Miami in October.

Watco’s suit said that when a customer emailed about services in September, Smithson told the client he was taking a job at Pegasus and for the client to contact him in the future at his Pegasus email or on his cellphone.
