E.C. Barton Adds 4 to Board of Directors

E.C. Barton & Co. of Jonesboro announced Wednesday four new members of its board of directors.

The new members are Blake Barber, Kevin Pierce, Henry Torres and Willis Tyler. They fill vacancies left by retirements. 

"I am proud to announce the newest members to the E.C. Barton and Company Board of Directors," said Chris Gardner, chairman. "The appointments bring diverse and valuable resources to our Board and management team. These new directors along with our five existing members will guide our path and help build on our Mission, Vision and Core Values."

Others on the board are Gardner; Steve Brimner, president and CEO; Gary Beasley, CFO; Mark Belk; and Stacey Greene. 

Barber is the owner and co-founder of Ashley Lighting, which provides lighting fixtures to the hospitality market. Pierce is vice president of operations for E.C. Barton. Torres is the assistant vice chancellor and chief information officer for Arkansas State University. Tyler is the assistant secretary, treasurer and ESOP co-trustee for E.C. Barton. All four live in Jonesboro.

Home improvement products retailer E.C. Barton was founded in 1885. It operates Barton's, Grossman's Bargain Outlet, Surplus Warehouse and E.C.B. Brokerage in 17 states. The company, which has more than 100 stores, is 100 percent employee-owned.
