Allegiant Air on Monday announced seasonal air service from Little Rock to Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport in Florida beginning May 17.

The seasonal flights will operate twice weekly. Allegiant said fares on the new route start at $49 each way.

"We're excited that Allegiant will offer this route from Little Rock so that passengers may reach the emerald waters and beautiful beaches with just a short flight."

Also this week, Allegiant announced a new route from Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport in Highfill to Nashville International Airport, which will begin June 6.
