Zane Gastineau Takes Seat as Dean at Harding's College of Sciences (Movers & Shakers)

Zane Gastineau’s appointment as dean of the College of Sciences at Harding University in Searcy was effective last week.

Gastineau, a professor and chair of the Engineering & Physics Department, joined Harding in 2002.

He succeeds Travis Thompson, who is returning to full-time teaching in the mathematics department after 17 years as dean.


Dr. Steve Pu, who has practiced medicine in the Mississippi Delta for more than 35 years, was recently named director of physician relations at New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.

Pu earned his doctor of osteopathy degree from Kansas City University of Medicine & Biosciences in 1979. He was most recently a physician at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett, Missouri.


Justin Jefferies began work as assistant sports information director at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway earlier this year.

A native of Florence, Alabama, Jefferies most recently worked as the assistant athletics communications director at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee.
