Priority1 Inc. of Little Rock, a privately held third-party logistics services company, announced Tuesday that it will hire at least 50 new corporate headquarters employees as a result of its continued national growth.
Priority1, with its corporate headquarters in the Riverdale area near downtown Little Rock, has more than 200 employees and 20 locations nationwide.
"Priority1 is excited to continue to source the best talent within the state of Arkansas," CEO Dan Berardi said in a news release. "Priority1 has grown up in Little Rock, and we are proud of our roots. The Little Rock Regional Chamber and AEDC (Arkansas Economic Development Commission) helped us create a solution that allows Priority1 to execute growth plans and perpetuate our brand through recruiting, training and developing top-tier talent. Priority1 will parlay that talent to be successful in a very competitive industry landscape."
The company qualified for the "Create Rebate," an annual cash rebate based on the number of jobs, through the AEDC.
Secretary of Commerce Mike Preston called Priority1 "a fine example of a company that found its niche and strives to be the best in the field."
Chamber CEO and President Jay Chesshir said the chamber has a business retention and expansion program. Through it, the chamber advised Priority1 about applicable incentives and workforce development grants it might qualify for to train the 50 new hires.
In addition, "As opposed to just doing a big call for 'these jobs are available, please see X,' we've actually run events for that, and we're looking at doing the same thing for Priority1."
