For more than 78 years, Welsco has been the premier welding supply and industrial and specialty gas supplier in the region.
Welsco is a family-owned business committed to family values, positive attitudes, integrity, shared knowledge and co-workers’ respect for each other and the community. The Welsco map includes Arkansas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana and Missouri.
What really sets Welsco apart is its corporate culture. Everyone is there to support the rest of the team. If someone needs help, all they need to do is ask. This is true even when the need is in the middle of the night, during a winter storm or other trying times.
Welsco has the peer-nominated Whale Done bonus program to acknowledge and reward those employees caught going above and beyond what should be expected.
There is also the Raving Fan Bonus for all employees not otherwise covered under an incentive program. They are eligible to receive this quarterly bonus based on the company’s overall financial success.
As much as it likes to reward and recognize employees, Welsco also likes them to have fun.
From the employee picnic — when employees from all 18 locations come together — to the annual fishing tournament on Lake Ouachita to organized activities like attending horse races, the dog track, casino, art studio or escape house, employees can let their hair down and get to know each other on a more personal level.
The 20-Year Luncheon in January celebrates employees with more than 20 years of service as well as recent retirees. Gifts are given for 20-, 30-, 40- and 50-year milestones.
The annual golf tournament, Drives for Disabilities, is a Welsco event that benefits Easterseals of Arkansas. Employees and suppliers are the major participants tournament, which raises a substantial amount for the organization.
Welsco has worked hard to make sure it is always a place where people would feel welcome and want to spend the rest of their careers. This is seen in the number of employees who have come to Welsco after working decades for other companies and repeatedly say they wished they had come to work at Welsco when they were younger.
