Walton College to Host Supply Chain Hall of Fame

2 min read

The University of Arkansas’ Sam M. Walton College of Business will serve as host for the Supply Chain Hall of Fame in Rogers for the next five years.

The university said the Hall of Fame will be on the top of Northgate Plaza, a six-story, 111,000-SF office building under construction at 5111 W. J.B. Hunt Dr. The building is owned by a partnership between Johnelle Hunt and the Blass family of Little Rock.

Johnelle Hunt is the co-founder of J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. of Lowell. Gus Blass III is general partner of Capital Properties, and Alex Blass is a partner at Cushman & Wakefield/Sage Partners in Rogers; both Blasses are graduates of Walton College.

The Hall of Fame was created by the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals in 2016. Johnnie Hunt, Johnelle’s late husband and co-founder of the transportation company that bears his name, was a member of the hall’s inaugural class.

Remko Van Hoek, a professor in the university’s Department of Supply Chain Management, will be the hall’s executive director.

“The Hall of Fame will highlight achievements and innovations in supply chain,” Walton College Dean Matt Waller. “Northwest Arkansas is the hub of supply chain innovation and research. We have to thank Remko for having the vision to get CSCMP to establish the Hall of Fame here.”

Northgate Plaza is expected to be completed early next year. The Hall of Fame will have exhibits to honor inductees and space for lectures and meetings for as many as 100 people.
