CHI St. Vincent Cuts 28 Positions Across State

1 min read

A CHI St. Vincent spokesman said Thursday that the health care company cut 28 positions across its Arkansas footprint, including 19 that were currently staffed.

“As we strive to meet the changing demands for care in the communities we serve, we continuously assess our resources and how best to utilize them effectively and efficiently,” the company said in a statement. “When staffing adjustments are necessary, we work closely with affected employees to identify other opportunities in our system for which they may be qualified.”

Little Rock ABC affiliate KATV-TV, Channel 7, first reported the layoffs.

CHI St. Vincent has hospitals and clinics throughout Arkansas, including Little Rock, Hot Springs and Sherwood. It is part of CommonSpirit Health of Chicago, which has operations in 21 states.

CHI St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock is the state’s fifth largest hospital by revenue, according to Arkansas Business’ most recent list published Sept. 30. The 615-bed facility reported $393.8 million in net patient revenue and 3,218 employees.

(Update: A previous version of this story said the cuts took place at St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock. It has been updated to say the cuts took place across its Arkansas operations.)
