Venture Center, Little Rock Chamber Announce New Origin Program

The Venture Center and Little Rock Regional Chamber announced Tuesday a new program called Origin.

Origin will serve as a starting point for entrepreneurs at all levels seeking guidance with ideas, the organizations said.

During Origin idea sessions, a team will provide potential founders with information about local resources, pitch skills development, and encourage them to engage in mentorship and networking.

"Entrepreneurship and ideas start here at the Venture Center, and we saw an opportunity to work with our incredible community partner to provide guidance to people when they need it the most – during the idea stage," said Wayne Miller, executive director of the Venture Center, in a news release. "Knowing there are resources available to help and how to access them is half the battle of starting a business. We’re excited to help entrepreneurs taking the first steps towards realizing their dreams."

Chamber President and CEO Jay Chesshir said, "When the chamber helped start the Venture Center just six years ago, our goal was to create a team of professionals capable of teaching, mentoring and leading people with ideas through the often exhaustive entrepreneurial process. Origin is a program designed to help talented people utilize their really good ideas to create successful and sustainable companies."
