Former Hog Coaches Sell Fayetteville HomesLock Icon

2 min read

You may have heard that former Arkansas basketball coach Mike Anderson sold his Fayetteville home for $2.5 million recently to someone Razorbacks fans hope will not be leaving the area any time soon: new football coach Sam Pittman.

Well, Anderson isn’t the only former Arkansas coach who has sold a residence. Former Arkansas offensive coordinator Joe Craddock, who was terminated in December after two seasons with the Razorbacks, sold his Fayetteville home as well.

Craddock and his wife, Abigail, sold their 3,017-SF home on the shores of Lake Lucille for a smidgen less than $700,000. He paid $625,000 for it in May 2018; the buyer was Don2B Trust, which is affiliated with Durenda Nelson Brunner of Fayetteville.

Craddock “helped” Arkansas to two consecutive 2-10 (0-8 in the SEC) records under head coach Chad Morris. Morris was fired with two games left in the season, and Craddock was let go after the season. He has since landed a gig as tight ends coach at the University of Alabama-Birmingham.

Which, coincidentally, is where Mike Anderson started his full-time coaching career before stops at Missouri and Arkansas, where he was 169-102 in eight seasons. Anderson is now coaching at St. John’s University in Queens, New York.

Anderson’s former digs, which he and his wife, Marcheita, bought as land only in 2012 for $160,000, are in the super-fancy, exclusive Bridgewater Estates subdivision. It is across the street from Morris’ former 11,023-SF estate, which he sold after his dismissal, getting $1,000 shy of $3.8 million.

Anderson didn’t get that much for his 7,200-SF home, but he did generate a nice commission for his daughter, Darcheita Bennett of eXp Realty in Bentonville, who repped her parents in the listing.

Pittman’s new neighbors will include fantastically successful Razorbacks baseball coach Dave Van Horn and Olympic track and field gold medalist Mike Conley.
