Johnny Gibbs has been promoted to president of Diamond Bank of Murfreesboro. Gibbs will also retain the title of chief financial officer of the bank. He oversees all of the bank’s day-to-day operations, as well as continuing his duties as financial chief. He is located in Glenwood, at the operations center.
Gibbs began his banking career as vice president of Southern State Bank in 2002. He joined Diamond Bank in 2010 as the chief financial officer and subsequently served as executive vice president and chief lending officer before being named president.
During his tenure with Diamond Bank, Gibbs has led the group of lenders to grow $204 million in loans and helped grow assets by $232 million, resulting in an overall footing of $658 million as of Nov. 30, 2019.
Gibbs earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration with an emphasis in accounting from Southern Arkansas University in 1995.
Erin Simpson has been hired as executive vice president and chief risk officer for Encore Bank in Little Rock.
Simpson is a certified regulatory compliance manager and has more than 19 years of experience in bank compliance.
Larry Root, a private wealth adviser for Ameriprise Financial in Little Rock, was named to the Best-in-State Wealth Advisors list published by Forbes magazine.
Taylor Oberg and Hayden McCormick are new staff accountants at Mcllroy Keen & Goodman LLP in Little Rock.
Oberg worked at Mike’s Place restaurant in Conway for 13 years before earning a degree in accounting from the University of Central Arkansas in December.
McCormick graduated from UCA in 2019 with a bachelor’s degrees in accounting and psychology.
