Barkley Takes GM Role at KHBS, KHOG (NWA Movers & Shakers)
Bruce T. Barkley of KHBS-TV and KHOG-TV, based out of Fayetteville and Fort Smith.

Bruce T. Barkley has been named president and general manager of KHBS-TV and KHOG-TV, which serve the Fayetteville and Fort Smith markets.

He previously was the news director at WYFF-TV, the NBC affiliate that serves parts of South Carolina and North Carolina.

Barkley has experience working as a news director at three different stations and has guided newsrooms to Edward R. Murrow Award, Associated Press and Emmy wins.


Steve Krogull has been named permanent chief information officer and associate vice chancellor for university information technology at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.

Krogull has been in an interims role since March.


April Mayo has been promoted to administrator and nursing supervisor of Mercy Hospital in Paris. Mayo has worked for Mercy since 2011 and has extensive experience in the rural nursing industry. Mayo most recently was the clinical nurse manager at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith.

Michelle Bass has been promoted to vice president of service excellence at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith. Bass started her new position on July 1 and previously was the vice president of quality, risk and service.
