WeWork Labs of New York City will hold a launch for its northwest Arkansas program Oct. 29 in Bentonville.
WeWork Labs is a subsidiary of WeWork, the shared-office space company. WeWork Labs is a digital platform that works with early-stage startups and small businesses.
WeWork Lab's parent company has been connected with a 200,000-SF office building project just off the downtown Bentonville square at 224 S. Main St. WeWork's tumultuous last year has not affected the project’s timeline, according to property owner Josh Kyles, a Bentonville real estate developer.
Kyles said in a text message that the site's utilities have been completed, tower cranes have been erected at the site and construction should be completed by early 2022.
WeWork Labs' socially distanced launch event will be held in the Massey Building in downtown Bentonville. The launch will also be streamed live because of COVID-19 concerns.
There will be an opening panel at 4 p.m. that will include speakers from WeWork Labs. Arkansas Commerce Secretary Mike Preston, Walton Family Foundation executive Karen Minkel and Northwest Arkansas Council CEO Nelson Peacock are also scheduled to appear.
The launch will have breakout sessions after the panel followed by an open house event.
