Dr. Maaman Bashir has joined the staff of Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff and its new clinic, Jefferson Regional Rheumatology Associates.
Bashir received her medical degree in Karachi, Pakistan, then completed an internal medicine residency at Presence Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois, and a rheumatology fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. She is board-certified in internal medicine and rheumatology.
Dr. Stephen Toothaker has joined Unity Health Oncology/Hematology in Searcy. Dr. Peter Han, a urologist, has joined Unity Health Medical Center in Searcy. Han previously practiced in Virginia, where he received his training at Portsmouth Naval Hospital.
Dr. Carina Torres Sanvicente has joined the Jones Eye Institute at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock as a glaucoma specialist. She will also serve as an assistant professor in the UAMS College of Medicine Department of Ophthalmology.
A native of Brazil, Sanvicente earned her medical degree in 2012 from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sol in Porto Alegre, Brazil. She completed an ophthalmology residency at the Hospital Banco de Olhos in 2017. She completed a glaucoma research fellowship in 2018 at the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia and a glaucoma clinical fellowship in 2020 at Emory University in Atlanta.

Dr. Scott Ryan has joined Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock as a vascular surgeon.
Ryan received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2013.
He completed a general surgery residency at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and a vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Texas-Houston and then founded Arkansas Vascular Surgery PLLC.
Judy Wooten, president and CEO of Arkansas Hospice in North Little Rock, recently received the 2020 Regent’s Award for Senior Level Healthcare Executive from the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Wooten, who has led the hospice since 2011, is a fellow of the ACHE and is active in its local chapter, the Arkansas Health Executives Forum.
