The sale of a north Arkansas manufacturer quietly closed to start the new year.
Harrison’s Claridge Products & Equipment is under new ownership after a deal was struck with Skylark Private Equity Partners of Dallas.
How much money changed hands is under wraps for now.
Claridge, a manufacturer of writing surfaces for businesses and schools (chalkboards, whiteboards and such), had been owned by the Clavey family since its launch back in 1947 in Park Ridge, Illinois.
The venture opened shop in Harrison six years later and the city became its headquarters. Annual revenue is estimated at $87 million. The company employs 437 workers.
In the aftermath of the deal, Marcus McNew, the corporate secretary, succeeds Helen Clavey as company president.
