Richardson Named Chief Admin of Jonesboro (Movers & Shakers)

Brian Richardson has been chosen by Jonesboro Mayor Harold Copenhaver to serve as the city’s chief administrative officer.

Richardson, who will be responsible for projects related to improving economic development, will work with municipal government, Arkansas State University and civic groups to promote growth. He previously managed a Jonesboro-based public relations and consulting firm focused on initiative projects, strategic advice and political marketing.

Chris Roark has been named chief of operations for the Little Rock District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Roark replaced Kevin Mcdaniels, who will be transferred to Detroit.

Roark will be responsible for managing 13 locks and dams on the Arkansas River, 12 multipurpose dams and lakes, seven hydroelectric powerhouses and 164 public parks and recreation areas.

Roark previously was the Little Rock District’s deputy chief of operations and was deployed to southwestern Louisiana after Hurricane Rita. He has been with the Little Rock District for 38 years.


State Sen. Linda Chesterfield and state Reps. Monte Hodges, Jay Richardson and Jamie Scott have been appointed officers of the Arkansas Legislative Black Caucus.

Hodges, of Blytheville, who represents District 55, will serve as president.

Chesterfield, of Little Rock, who represents District 30, will serve as vice president.

Richardson, of Fort Smith, who represents District 78, will be secretary.

And Scott, of North Little Rock, representing District 37, will be treasurer.
