Hardy Wentzel had a different view of the massive snowstorm that hit Arkansas in February.

Structurlam is putting on the finishing touches of its new mass timber production facility in Conway, a construction project that continued through a host of obstacles during the past year, including the COVID-19 pandemic.
While not as unexpected as a pandemic, the winter storm that hit Arkansas three months ago was unusual. Conway got 10 inches of snow while other areas of the state saw even more.
You might think that such snow would be child’s play to a bunch of Canadians, but 10 inches is actually nearly 3 inches more than Penticton sees in an average year. Wentzel said he and other Structurlam officials, who had a remote camera set up in Conway to monitor the progress of the construction, watched the snowfall wistfully.
“What was really funny was all of our British Columbia-based associates were looking at all the photos and going, ‘Wow, look at that fresh snow!’” Wentzel said. “We are all snow skiers up here.”
