Camp Taco at Lost Forty is the name of Lost Forty’s new restaurant and small-batch brewery in the former Rebel Kettle Brewing space at 822 E. Sixth St., and it’s scheduled to open in September. That’s the word from John Beachboard, a Lost Forty co-owner and partner in the Little Rock restaurant group Yellow Rocket Concepts.

“We have been brewing a lot of different lagers there for the past several months,” he said. “We’re one of the few craft breweries that really focuses on lagers. Lagers take a lot longer to make. We actually have some beers that we’ve been lagering now for about three months.”

Beachboard added: “Just like barbecue, the secret to a good lager is time and temperature, so we’re going to do it without all the different filtering and fining. We’re just going to do it the old-school way, which is time and temperature.”

He also promised “a lot of cool new beers. … It’s going to be the research and development wing.”

And yes, the menu focus is tacos, with the restaurant making its own corn and flour tortillas. Yellow Rocket partner Scott McGehee is working on recipes now, Beachboard said.

A big outdoor stage for musical performances is planned. Indoor seating will accommodate 50-55 and the patio will seat 100.

The stage is not quite set for the outdoor dining area at Camp Taco at Lost Forty on Sixth Street in Little Rock. The latest restaurant from Yellow Rocket Concepts is set to open in September.
