KTHV-TV, Channel 11, the Little Rock CBS affiliate, has named career-long staffer Hayden Balgavy to join the hosts of the station’s morning show, “Wake Up Central.”
Balgavy, known for his Arkansas sports fandom since joining Channel 11 while still a senior at Arkansas State University, will appear alongside Amanda Jaeger and meteorologist Skot Covert. The new assignment will start in mid-August, the station said.
“Wake Up Central” airs weekday mornings from 4:30 to 7 a.m.
“Hayden goes all in on everything,” KTHV General Manager Marty Schack said in a statement. “He’s committed to truthful and ethical journalism, has a heart for the community we serve, and is an elite storyteller and anchor. He is a perfect fit for ‘Wake Up Central.’”
Balgavy, who grew up in central Arkansas, said it was a dream come true to join the morning show he watched in his youth. “The team is incredible and I can’t wait to work with them every morning,” Balgavy said in a news release.
