Gov. Asa Hutchinson on Friday appointed Chris Colclasure as director of the Arkansas Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Division.
Colclasure will succeed Bruce Holland, who resigned earlier this month.
Colclasure has more than 21 years of experience in Arkansas state government. He most recently served as deputy director of the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission, where he supervised nine of its 12 divisions at different times during his five years with the agency.
Colclasure previously served in several capacities at the Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission for 14 years, including as director from 2013 to 2016.
He began his career in Arkansas working in floodplain management for the Natural Resources Division.
