John Brown University in Siloam Springs promoted Ted Song to chief diversity officer on Wednesday.
He’s led the Office of Diversity since 2020, and joined JBU full time in 2012 as an engineering professor. Song has served as coordinator of diversity and innovation and as chair of the faculty affairs committee as well.
Song will also join the President’s Cabinet, an eight-person team that works to advise the university president on the strategic direction of JBU, and implement planning, major initiatives and policies. He will continue to teach as an associate professor of engineering.
Prior to JBU, Song was an ROTC cadet in his undergraduate studies and served as an air defense artillery officer in the Republic of Korea.
He received his master’s degree and doctorate in electrical engineering and computer engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
