North Arkansas College in Harrison will host an economic development summit Thursday that will feature Steuart Walton and Jeff Amerine as keynote speakers.

Walton, the grandson of Walmart Inc. founder Sam Walton, is the co-founder of the investment group Runway Group of Bentonville. Amerine founded Startup Junkie, an entrepreneurial support company in Fayetteville.

Amerine will appear with Grace Rains, the executive director of The Conductor, a private-public partnership with Startup Junkie and the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.

The summit will begin at 8:15 a.m. and will be held at the Durand Center in downtown Harrison. In addition to the keynote speeches, the summit will feature breakout sessions with Amerine and Rains.

“This event adds another layer to the work of the chamber’s programs and initiatives to foster economic development in our region,” said Bob Largent, the president and CEO of the Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce. “We’re extremely pleased to have these exceptional business innovators and change agents with us in Harrison.”

A previous version of this story mistakenly referred to Gains as the founder of The Conductor.
