Jefferson Regional in Pine Bluff has announced plans to acquire the Monticello Medical Clinic in a deal effective Feb. 1.
The four-clinic transaction includes two locations in Monticello and associated clinics in Star City and Crossett.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Brian Thomas, president and CEO of Jefferson Regional, said operations will continue as usual once the deal closes.
“Monticello Medical has been providing quality medical care across South Arkansas for many years," Thomas said. "Patients should expect to receive the same great care they always have, from the same team of excellent physicians.”
Monticello Medical's current providers are Dr. Sylvia Simon, Dr. Timothy Simon, Dr. Michael Fakouri, Dr. Julia Nicholson, Dr. James Atkins and APRN Amanda Bickford.
Simon said Monticello Medical and Jefferson Regional were already working together before the deal.
"Jefferson Regional has been providing management services to the clinic for quite some time, as well as bringing specialty physicians to the community on a monthly basis," she said. "We are looking forward to this enhanced partnership with Jefferson Regional and know that this will benefit our patients.”
