Anonymous Donor Gives $500K to UAPB

An anonymous donor has given $500,000 to the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff to help students complete their degrees, the university announced Thursday.

The gift will help UAPB provide direct funding to college students dealing with financial roadblocks that could keep them from graduating.

Chancellor Laurence Alexander said the gift is one of the largest in school history from an individual donor.

“This gift will provide the much-needed flexible funding that allows us to assist students in achieving their objective of a college degree without the burdens of crippling financial debt," he said in a news release.

The university said the same anonymous donor gave $250,000 in August.
