SENIOR COUNSEL, WINDSTREAM
When Windstream acquired Winters’ previous employer in Greenville, South Carolina, she was offered a chance to take a position with the company in Little Rock, which jibed with her plans to earn a law degree as a part-time student. The University of South Carolina Upstate graduate followed through and completed her legal studies at the UA Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law.
As a volunteer, Winters, 35, appreciates Little Rock’s philanthropic spirit and also enjoys the access to adventure the city provides. “I often say Arkansas is one of the South's best kept secrets,” Winters says. “I love getting outdoors and the state has plenty of opportunities. Little Rock is perfectly located to access all parts of the state.”
Neighborhood I Call Home: Benton — I would call West Little Rock my home between work and volunteering.
My Go-To Place in Little Rock is: Stickyz because it has all of the best things, great food, great drinks, a great patio, great live music and a great vibe.
Favorite Local Little Rock Lunch Spot: Layla’s Gyros and Pizzeria.
What Does Little Rock Offer that Your Hometown Does Not? The small big city feel. We are in the state capital but there are days you would never know.
On the Weekend You Can Find Me: Hiking, hanging at a local brewery or volunteering at one of the nonprofits in town. I use my weekends to recharge and stay engaged in the community.
Newcomers to Little Rock Should Definitely: [Attend] 2nd Friday Art Night. It is such a great way to visit so many of the cultural attractions. Plus it’s a great way to take in the downtown area, including a stroll down by the river.
Little Rock Surprised Me Because: [Of its] wide array of great local restaurants and the wide variety of cuisine options. One of my favorite things to do with friends is find a new-to-us local restaurant and try it out.
