A Texas group came shopping in central Arkansas and spent $39.6 million for 165 houses scattered across five counties.
The buyer is NexPoint SFR SPE I LLC, an affiliate of NexPoint Advisors in Dallas. We’re led to believe the venture is part of a real estate investment trust focused on building a portfolio of single-family rental properties. Seller: Four affiliates of Fayetteville’s American Residential Group, led by David Frye.

► 47 in the Graham Woods neighborhood of Jacksonville
► 33 in the Southern Comfort Estates neighborhood of Cabot
► 22 in the Trammel Gardens neighborhood of Sherwood
► 18 each in the Faulkner Crossing neighborhood of North Little Rock and the Valley Ridge neighborhood of Shannon Hills
► 13 in the Bear Paw neighborhood of Sherwood
► Four in the Stonehenge Place neighborhood of Cabot
► Three each in the Chapel Creek neighborhood of Benton, and the Matthews Meadows neighborhood of Conway
► Two each in the Terrace Meadows neighborhood of Beebe and the Baywood neighborhood of Greenbrier.
