The Arkansas Advanced Energy Association has hired advertising and marketing specialist Cate Wilson as communications and operations manager, the trade group announced Thursday.

Wilson, whose latest job was media and advertising strategy and communications at Heifer International in Little Rock, started her duties with the AAEA and its educational affiliate, the Arkansas Advanced Energy Foundation, on June 1.

“Arkansas is in such a unique position with so much growth potential in advanced energy, and it’s an honor to work with this organization to help further those goals,” Wilson said in a news release.

She will work for Executive Director Lauren Waldrip, communicating about association and foundation initiatives with association members, potential members and the general public. “As our industry and membership continues to grow, Cate will give our organization additional capacity to serve and add value to our members,” Waldrip said in the release, adding that Wilson’s background made her a perfect fit for the team.

The association promotes advanced energy technologies and initiatives including energy efficiency, demand response, natural gas power generation, solar and wind power, hydroelectric energy, alternative fuels and the smart grid. It also engages in public policy debates on the local, state and federal levels, including regulatory issues before the Arkansas Public Service Commission and other entities.
