A relatively small case of COVID relief fraud with an Arkansas connection popped up on the public record last month.
The Federal Reserve entered a consent order banning Nicole Moore — aka Nicole Lemmones and Nicole Walker — from working in the banking industry.
That action was tied to her allegedly using “materially false and fraudulent representations” to obtain two Paycheck Protection Program loans in early 2021 while working as a sales representative for Arvest Bank in Kansas City, Missouri.
Arvest is, of course, chartered in Fayetteville.
According to the order, in which she made no admission of guilt, Moore applied for and received two PPP loans totaling $17,533 from a lender approved by the U.S. Small Business Administration in February and March 2021.
Then she used the proceeds for “personal and other expenses.”
Moore does not seem to have been prosecuted for the fraudulent loans, and she agreed to the Fed’s penalty without a hearing.
Arvest spokesman Jason Kincy said Moore has not been employed by Arvest since June 2021 and declined further comment.
