Judy McReynolds, chairman, CEO and president of ArcBest Corp. of Fort Smith, and Jason Morris, senior vice president of enterprise business services at Walmart Inc., have joined the board of trustees of the Arkansas Research Alliance.
Pat Edmunds, the director of the Arkansas Tech Career Center, has received the Arkansas Career & Technical Education Postsecondary Teacher of the Year Award. Edmunds has been the director of the ATCC since 2010.
Steve Oatis has been named the new associate vice president for academic affairs at the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville. Oatis has taught at the university since 1999 and will continue as a professor of history.
Marti Jones is the new executive director of the Conway Public Schools Foundation. Jones has 20 years of nonprofit leadership experience, previously serving as the executive director of Haven House of Conway.
Amber Martin is the new director of the Counseling Center at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. Martin has been a licensed professional counselor at the center for the past 17 years. She succeeds Philip Hestand, who retired as director after 22 years of service.
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s Athletic Communications department has received national recognition from the College Sports Information Directors of America. The Trojans’ women’s basketball game notes, written by Patrick Walsh, associate director of communications, were ranked eighth in the nation out of all winter sports game notes.
Kara Brown has been hired as associate vice chancellor for student affairs at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Brown will oversee the Student Experience Center and the Multicultural Center.
