Arkansas Trucking Association President Shannon Newton has been named to the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis' Transportation Industry Council.
The council is one of four that provide the St. Louis Fed with feedback on economic conditions in their sectors. Each council meets twice a year.
The St. Louis Fed uses council members' observations to and economic data to inform monetary policy deliberations in Washington.
Newton has been head of the Arkansas Trucking Association since 2014.
