Ashley Nemec-Bakk, a postdoctoral fellow in the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy’s Division of Radiation Health and Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, is one of three researchers nationwide to receive a postdoctoral fellowship from the Translational Research Institute for Space Health (TRISH) at Baylor College of Medicine. TRISH is backed by NASA’s Human Research Program, with a mission, in part, to support the upcoming Artemis missions to the moon.
Kayla Bond has joined the Conway Regional Cardiovascular Clinic. Bond holds a Master of Science in adult gerontology primary care from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Harding University in Searcy.
Three doctors have joined McFarland Eye Care. Optometric physician Dr. Brittney Nguyen is joining the Little Rock Rodney Parham clinic, optometric physician Dr. Shalynn Mills is joining the Bryant clinic, and cataract surgeon Dr. Donald Gauldin is joining the Bryant, Pine Bluff and Rodney Parham locations.
Dr. Veronica Easton, an internal medicine specialist; Dr. Riley Pace, an internal medicine and pediatrics specialist; and Dr. Amanda Sale, an internal medicine specialist, have joined the St. Bernards Clopton Clinic medical team in Jonesboro. Easton completed a palliative care fellowship with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) in Memphis. She received her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock before completing an internal medicine residency at UTHSC. Pace completed an internal medicine/pediatrics internship and residency at UTHSC, where he also earned his Doctor of Medicine. Sale received her Doctor of Medicine from American University of Integrative Sciences in Barbados and completed an internal medicine residency program at St. Bernards.
Baptist Health Cardiology Center-Fort Smith has hired Cristy Lelievre as a nurse practitioner and Dr. Ashley Mohadjer as an interventional cardiologist. Lelievre earned a doctorate of nursing from Creighton University and a bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Mohadjer earned her medical degree at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. She completed a residency in internal medicine at the Cleveland Clinic and completed fellowships at the University of Florida in Gainesville and at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Dr. Scott Ferguson, a West Memphis radiologist, has been re-elected to the American Medical Association’s board of trustees. Ferguson is a fellow of the American College of Radiology.
Michelle Gilbert has been named vice president of development at CareLink of North Little Rock. She previously served as the agency’s marketing and outreach manager.
Gary Boyd has been named vice president of information systems for Arkansas Blue Cross & Blue Shield. Before joining ABCBS, he was vice president of information technology for a large health care company.
