More than 50 restaurants in Little Rock are participating in Black Restaurant Week, an annual event that celebrates Black-owned restaurants, bars, catering businesses, food trucks and chefs in cities across the country.

The event begins Sept. 23 and continues through Oct. 2. Participating restaurants in Little Rock include:

  • Rock City Taco + Margarita Bar
  • Sandra Rose Kitchen
  • Sweet Stuffed LLC
  • Yeh Mon Jamaican Restaurant
  • Blue Pumpkin
  • S & K Wings
  • The So Full Cafe

A full list of participating restaurants is available on Black Restaurant Week’s website.

Black Restaurant Week began in 2016 to highlight African-American, African, and Caribbean influences in the culinary industry, and to “educate consumers on the abundance of cultural cuisines,” organizers said in a news release.

This year’s initiatives include small business grants and business development training from Black Restaurant Week LLC’s nonprofit, the Feed the Soul Foundation.

More than 1,200 Black-owned culinary businesses participated in Black Business Week last year and saw an average sales increase of 15%, according to the release.
